Case Report: Autoimmune Neutropenia (Granulocytopenia)

A one-year-old girl has experienced otitis media several times. The absolute neutrophil count is below 500/µl. Autoantibodies preferably binding to HNA-1a positive granulocytes are detectable the patient's plasma.

Diagnosis: Primary autoimmune neutropenia. Preferably binding of the autoantibodies to HNA-1a-positive granulocytes is typical for this disease.
